Laila El Raei; is a graduate of the School of Mass Communication, Department of Journalism. She first worked in Egyptian Radio broadcasting cultural and political programs. She wrote and presented for over ten years “The World on Air” radio program. She worked for several reputable Egyptian and Arab journals and magazines specializing in women and social issues. She contributed many stories to the well-loved popular children's publication Alaa Al Din. She is the author of a number of books, among them are: Medo and Louli, The Most Beautiful Stories of the World, Hear Me Mother, End of Year Party and many others. She was a regular contributor to Al Ahram Newspaper’s cultural pages for over ten years, and the editor in charge of Kotob, Al Ahram Newspaper’s book review page. For many years she was the editor in chief of Aladdin, a monthly children’s magazine.
