Walid Taher

Walid Taher; graduated from faculty of fine arts in 1992, interior decoration section performing arts division. He worked in illustrations for journalism since 1990 until now. He also worked in the field of writing and illustration for children. He has written almost 40 children’s books to date. He received the Etislat Award for Children’s Literature in 2010 and in 2016. His illustrations also received the first award for illustration for children from the Sharjah Children’s Reading Festival in 2014, and earned honorable mention from the Bologna Book Fair for Children’s Books in 2004. He was artist-in-residence in Marseilles, France for three years, collaborating with the French bilingual publisher Le port a jauni to produce works that appeared in Arabic and French.
